Many Unitarian Universalists sometimes feel overwhelmed at the prospect of working in the area of social justice. “Where to begin?” We say. “How shall we decide or select priority areas?” “How shall we sharpen our focus and still cover the issues that will honor our Principles and, at the same time, satisfy all UU priorities?”

The UULMNC will soon consult with our 34 congregations to identify issues that will be the initial focus of our efforts for the next two years or so. An online survey is also envisioned. Task forces will then be established for each priority issue. Each group will have a volunteer facilitator/chair who will convene “meetings” via conference calls and e-mail to define positions and identify, communicate, and carry out actions.

In the meantime, the following categories (in alpha order) are “penciled in” to describe areas we believe are on the minds of many UUs. From these and others you may suggest, we need to select our core priorities for the next year or two. We encourage you to send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
